Am 8. Mai 2019 tagte der Wiener Lenkungsausschuss von Smarter Together unter dem Vorsitz von Frauen- und Wohnbaustadträtin Kathrin Gaál. Der Lenkungsausschuss vereint die höchsten Vertreter aller ProjektpartnerInnen, die auch die Kooperationsvereinbarung mit der Europäischen Kommission bzw. den Fördervertrag unterschrieben haben. Die Aufgabe des Lenkungsausschusses ist es, die Umsetzung der vereinbarten Aufgaben zu supervisieren.

Smarter Together: Start 2016, Endspurt mit vier „Null-Energie-Turnsälen“

„Ein gesamtes Grätzel in Simmering wurde durch die von der EU geförderte Stadterneuerungsinitiative aufgewertet“, so Kathrin Gaál.
Das Besondere am Projekt „Smarter Together“: In dem ausgewählten Grätzel in Simmering rund um den Enkplatz, das Braunhuberviertel und den Geiselberg wurden und werden innovative technische Lösungen in den Bereichen Energie, Mobilität und Sanierung verknüpft. In dem Gebiet leben rund 21.000 Wienerinnen und Wiener. Die Monitoring- und Evaluierungsphase von „Smarter Together“ läuft noch bis Anfang 2021.

Ein besonderes Highlight im Finale von „Smarter Together“: Im Herbst 2019 werden vier „Null-Energie-Turnsäle“ in den Neuen Mittelschulen am Enkplatz eröffnen. Die Sportfreifläche wird auf 3.500 Quadratmetern Platz für die rund 1.000 Schülerinnen und Schüler bieten. Das „Smarte“ an der „Null-Energie-Bauweise“: Durch das besondere Haustechnikkonzept mit Photovoltaikanlage, Wärmepumpen und eine thermische Solaranlage wird überschüssige Energie rückgespeist.

40 smarte Einzelprojekte in Simmering: Von Sanierung bis E-Bike-Sharing

„Insgesamt 40 smarte Einzelprojekte bringen mehr Lebensqualität für die Bewohnerinnen und Bewohner in Simmering und tragen aktiv zum Klimaschutz bei“, so Wohnbaustadträtin Kathrin Gaál.

In den vergangenen drei Jahren – seit dem Startschuss im Jahr 2016 – wurden in Simmering unter dem Motto „Gemeinsam g’scheiter“ zahlreiche „smarte“ Ideen umgesetzt. Diese reichen von Solarbänken zum Aufladen von Mobiltelefonen, E-Car-Sharing bis zum E-Bike-Sharing. Die erste WienMobil-Station der Wiener Linien – mit Carsharing, E-Ladesäule, Fahrradboxen und Elektro- und Lastenrädern – wurde etwa realisiert.

Smarte Sanierung von drei Wohnhausanlagen

Neue Energielösungen wurden bei der thermischen Sanierung von drei Wohnhausanlagen von Wiener Wohnen und der BWSG (Hauffgasse, Lorystraße und Herbortgasse) und bei der Erweiterung der Neuen Mittelschulen (NMS) am Enkplatz eingesetzt. Rund 75.000 Quadratmeter an Geschoßfläche werden saniert.

Auswirkung: Die BewohnerInnen in den sanierten Wohnhausanlagen profitieren durch eine verbesserte Wohnqualität. Das Projekt brachte sechs Millionen Kilowattstunden pro Jahr an Energieeinsparungen.

Sieben Millionen Euro an EU-Fördergeldern

„Smarter Together = Gemeinsam g’scheiter“ ist ein Projekt im Rahmen des EU-Programms „Horizon 2020“ mit einer Laufzeit von 2016 bis 2021, das mit den Städten München und Lyon und den Follower-Städten Santiago de Compostela, Sofia und Venedig umgesetzt wird. Ausblick: Die Monitoring- und Evaluierungs-Phase wird nach den letzten Projekten starten und bis Anfang 2021 laufen.

Sieben Millionen Euro an EU-Fördergeldern konnten für die smarte Stadterneuerung genutzt werden. Das Gesamtinvestitionsvolumen beträgt rund 80 Mio. Euro. 900 Arbeitsplätze wurden durch das Projekt gesichert und zum Teil neu geschaffen.

„Das zeigt, welch große Chancen die Europäische Union bietet“, so Wohnbaustadträtin Kathrin Gaál. Und: „Sanierungen, neue Mobilitätsangebote und das aktive Einbinden der Bevölkerung machen den großen Erfolg von ,Smarter Together‘ aus. Lenkungsausschuss mit Projekt-PartnerInnen

Ein Lenkungsausschuss mit den ProjektpartnerInnen von „Smarter Together“ fand am 8. Mai statt – unter dem Vorsitz der Schirmherrin, Frauen- und Wohnbaustadträtin Kathrin Gaal.

Siemens Mobility allein spart dank der Projektaktivitäten 20.000 Liter Diesel pro Jahr ein. Die Österreichische Post setzt Ihren Weg Richtung CO2-freier Stadtlogistik mit neuen Elektrofahrzeugen weiter fort. Das Unternehmen Sycube realisierte ein E-Bike Verleihsystem im Grätzel. Ebenfalls am Projekt beteiligt: Wien Energie, die Wiener Stadtwerke, das AIT (Austrian Institute Of Technology) und Kelag Energie und Wärme. Von der Seite der Stadt Wien federführend beim Projekt an Bord: Die Abteilung Stadterneuerung und Prüfstelle für Wohnhäuser (MA 25) und die Stadtbaudirektion.

Meeting of Vienna's Steering Committee

On 8th of May 2019, Vienna’s SMARTER TOGETHER Steering Committee met under the patronage of the Executive Councillor for Women and Housing Ms. Kathrin Gaál. It gave on one hand the occasion to revue the project activities, to deepen the current cooperation and to gather ideas for future common actions.

„An entire district area in Simmering has been upgraded by the EU-funded urban renewal initiative,“ says Gaál. The special feature of the project „Smarter Together“: in the selected district area in Simmering around the Enkplatz, the Braunhuberviertel and the Geiselberg, innovative technical solutions in the areas of energy, mobility and renovation were and are being linked. Around 21,000 Viennese live in the area. The monitoring and evaluation phase of „Smarter Together“ will run until the beginning of 2021.

A special highlight in the project phase as of now: In the fall of 2019, four „zero energy gyms“ will be open in the New Middle Schools at the Enkplatz to the public. The open area sports terrain will offer space for the approximately 1,000 students on 3,500 square meters. The „smart“ solution in the „zero-energy construction“: The special building technology concept with photovoltaic system, heat pumps and a solar thermal system. And the excess energy is fed back in the district network.

„A total of 40 smart individual projects bring more quality of life to the residents of Simmering and actively contribute to climate protection,“ says Executive Housing Councillor Kathrin Gaál.

In the past three years – since the starting signal in 2016 – numerous „smart“ ideas have been implemented in Simmering under the motto „Together smarter“. These range from solar benches for charging mobile phones, e-car sharing to e-bike sharing. The first „WienMobil Station“ of the Wiener Linien – with carsharing, e-charging station, bicycle boxes and electric and cargo bikes – was realized.

New energy solutions were used in the thermal renovation of three residential buildings of Wiener Wohnen and BWSG (Hauffgasse, Lorystraße and Herbortgasse) and in the extension of the New Middle Schools (NMS) at Enkplatz. Approximately 75,000 square meters of floor space are being renovated.

The impact: Residents in the refurbished residential buildings benefit from improved living quality. The project generated six million kilowatt hours per year in energy savings.

„Smarter Together“ is a project within the framework of the EU program „Horizon 2020“ with a duration from 2016 to 2021, which was implemented with the cities of Munich and Lyon and the follower cities Santiago de Compostela, Sofia and Venice. The outlook: The monitoring and evaluation phase will start after the last projects and run until the beginning of 2021.

Seven million euros in EU funding are being used for smart urban renewal. The total investment volume is around 80 million euros. 900 jobs were secured by the project and partly created.

The Steering Committee with the project partners of „Smarter Together“ took place on May 8 – chaired by the patron, Women and Housing Councillor Kathrin Gaál.

Thanks to the project activities, Siemens Mobility alone saves 20,000 liters of diesel a year. Austrian Post is continuing on its path towards CO2-free city logistics with new electric vehicles. The company Sycube realized an e-bike rental system in project area. Also involved in the project: Wien Energie, Wiener Stadtwerke, AIT (Austrian Institute of Technology) and Kelag Energie und Wärme.
